for the woods would be

Holly Golightly in a different light

A touch of Tiffany's,
 a bit of whimsy,
and a whole lot of Holly Golightly.

This original painting
features a charming waif
with huge green eyes
 dressed to kill
as the lovely star of Breakfast at Tiffany's.

"A Touch of Tiffany"
original painting and giclee prints
available at christydekoning.etsy.com

This is the original sketch, and I'm making it available to purchase with the original painting.
And, like all my Audrey Hepburn-inspired art,
10% of the sales go to the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund.

Two Cats

As some of you know, I've been selling some art at the Ridgetown Farmer's Market this summer.
An unlikely place, you might think, to sell art.

I know I certainly thought so when I gave it a try!

The surprise is, it was a really great change for me - not only does it get me out of my studio once a week, but I've also made new contacts, and sold not only some originals and prints but also received a few small commissions.

Here are two photos of Gambit - a beautiful little cat I was lucky enough to paint for a visiting Vet Tech student.

The second photo was taken before I finished her nose & mouth, but I'm sure you can get the idea.

I was on vacation - really!!!!

I didn't drop dead from toxic paint fumes... I was away, exploring the Bruce Peninsula and feeding my soul with sparkling crystal clear water, fascinating rock formations, exciting vistas and interesting wildlife.

Once I get to the bottom of my emails and find my desk again, I will have new art to post.

Until then, here's a peek at the lush life I was living:

Caves at Flower Pot Island

Early Morning, Hope Bay

Big Tub Harbour, Tobermory

Nathan in the sand dunes at Kincardine
